NT Application Error (jas0501)

Windows NT has a known problem. It is a memory bug and is intermittent. Its likelyhood increases with the number of stocks being scanned and the number of scans. I also think but can't prove it that it dependent the heavy data use functions, (BOP, TVS, STOC, etc.). I avoid it pretty much by defining my Hard Disk watchlist to contain about 1800 symbols, qualified by price, volume, capitalization, and earnings, and scanning just the Hard Disk watchlist. It runs faster as well. This should be standard practice anyway unless you feel you really need to inspect all stocks.

The symptom on NT is a popup window: TC2000.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x10003711" referenced memory at "some address ending in 000". The memory could not be "read". This crash is not in WB's code but another vendor's dll. It is a crash in QPRO32.DLL, 0xC000005 Access violation. As such the fix is outside of WB's hands and will be fixed when/if they get corrected QPRO32.DLL. This problem will not benefit from defragging the disk and is memory dependent. You just have to be lucky to get past it eventually.

Here is a newer version of QPRO32.DLL.

1. Right click on the link below file and save.
http://www.tradeon.com/tradeon/tc2000/Qpro32.zip

2. In your c:/TC2000 directory, Rename Qpro32.dll to Qpro32.old - this has a file size of: 116kb.

3. Copy the Qpro32.dll that you saved above, into your c:/TC2000 directory. File size is 120 kb

Hope this version does the trick
